Official Course Description
The course gives a thorough introduction to differential and integral calculus of real functions of one variable with emphasis on theoretical aspects.
Course contents: Basic properties of real numbers. Limits and numerical series. Properties of continuous functions of one variable. Differential calculus and optimisation of real functions. Drawing curves. Elementary functions. Integral calculus for real functions. Simple differential equations. Taylor's formula with applications. Numerical aspects of the above.
This course replaces the course MATA14 Analysis 1 from the autumn term of 2015. Students enrolled in the Bachelor´s Programme in Mathematics, Physics, Theoretical Physics and Astronomy are taking this course parallel to the courses MATA22 Linear Algebra 1 and NUMA01 Computational Programming in Python.
